How I Went from IT & SAP to My Dream Job
Hello, I’m Martina Lamos, and if you had told me years ago that I would build a career in beauty, I would have laughed.
I've always been a tomboy. You could find me among a group of guys playing football or basketball. I wore short hair, black nails and black clothes. The highlight of my make-up was gray shadows and black pencil and "akne-color" .
And I have always declared that I do not want to work with women at all :)) .
I BELIEVE, that we are LED to what we desire, to the opportunities - that are our "doors" to fulfilment of our desires and dreams. And OFTER they show up in FORM that might me different as we imagined, but our FEELING, our HEART, our SOUL is just giving us signs that THIS IS IT. THIS IS PATH to what you asked for.
It all started during my university years. As a student at the University of Economics, I was deeply involved in IT and programming, preparing for what I thought was my future career. But I always had a creative side—designing dresses for my Barbies as a child, painting, and loving everything artistic.
Moving into a dorm away from home, I quickly realized that while my parents supported my basic needs, I wanted extra income to buy the things I truly desired. I had multiple side gigs, always finding ways to earn money.
A Simple Postcard That Changed Everything
One day, as I was walking through the dorm, I noticed a beautifully designed postcard with the words “Change Your Life.” My life wasn’t bad, but I had big dreams. I wanted to travel, live abundantly, and have enough money to buy the things I loved. That message resonated with me, so I went online and reached out to the girl behind it - viac form on her website.
We scheduled a meeting—there was no Zoom back then, so she traveled three and a half hours just to meet me. I remember being so impressed by her flawless skin and beautiful makeup. At the time, I struggled with acne, dry patches, and sensitive skin from using harsh treatments. Seeing her skin, I thought, if these products can help me, this is worth trying.
She spoke about trips, income opportunities, and beauty, but what convinced me was simply touching the products. The moment I tried the cleanser, cream, and eyeshadows, I felt their quality. I knew I wanted to be part of this.
From Side Gig to Passion
I started with the smallest starter kit. I got my sister to try the samples, placed my first small order, and soon after, I left for a work & travel program in the USA.
There, I met an inspiring mentor, Rhea, who introduced me to the business in a new way. She invited me to a beauty session, where I experienced a makeover for the first time—she applied makeup on half of my face, and I did the other half. The results were incredible, and I immediately purchased the products.
She told me, “Quit university and do this full-time.” That idea seemed crazy at the time, but when I returned home, I started doing makeovers for my friends in my dorm. I took before-and-after photos and saw the transformation firsthand. Soon, my friends were referring me to others, and I began hosting small beauty events.
What started as a distraction from a difficult period in my life became my passion. Seeing women gain confidence, improve their skin, and feel beautiful gave me an immense sense of fulfillment.
A Crossroad: Corporate Job or My Own Path?
After university, I began working as an SAP consultant—what I thought was my dream job. But reality hit when I needed a day off for a beauty conference and was denied because of a major project launch.
I started thinking seriously about my future. I loved makeup, skincare, and helping others, so I tested the waters by dedicating 2-3 evenings a week to beauty sessions, while I was working full-time job.
The first three weeks, I sold 1 makeup :)), But I didn’t care—I enjoyed the process and realized, that I love doing it. Then later I started to earn each month 1/2 of my full-time salary. That’s when I knew—I WANT to try this full-time. I recognized and felt - that THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY I was dreaming about.
From a Side Project to a Thriving Business
As my business grew, I met amazing clients who recommended me to others. I wasn’t just selling products—I was solving skin concerns and enhancing their beauty, they were feeling great again, they looked so much younger and more pretty ... and that led to increased self-worth and even in some tranformations it helped them to get better paid job.
Soon, others wanted to join my team. Some joined for the discount , some for extra income and fun, and some because they fell in love with the process—just like I did. That’s how my team, Miracles, was born.
Over the years, I invested in personal development, learning from world-class mentors like Tony Robbins, Jess & Ray Higdon, Mark Acceta, Peter Montoya, Ester Hicks and more. I traveled all over the world to refine my skills in beauty, coaching, marketing, NLP, emotional management and communication.
From Dorm Room Makeovers to Amazing Success
My journey took me to places I never imagined and never thought that were within my reach. Vacations, trips, car, house ... I collaborated on beauty events with luxury hotels like Kempinski and Hilton, worked at Mercedes and Harley Davidson events, did makeup for Miss Universe Slovakia finalists, TV appearances, and even film premieres.
But none of this happened overnight.
I started where I was, with what I had. It were small steps in the beginning - but they built STABLE and STRONG foundations. I stayed consistent. And I followed my passion.
